• Wednesday January 8th, our paper "Operation and Performance of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter in LHC Run-2", has been published by EPJC: Eur. Phys. J. C 84 (2024) 1313.

• January 1st 2025: Danijela Bogavac replaces Tamar Djobava as chair of the speakers committee. Thanks a lot Tamar for your service. • Monday December 9th: Gaogalalwe Mokgatitswane and Ryan Mckenzie, our former Run coordinators obtained their PhD degree at Witwatersrand. Well done Gao and Ryan !! Success in your next endeavours.

• Prof. Shaun Wyngaardt and Prof. Fairouz Malek (holding the camera) of Stellenbosch University visited the Tile Calorimeter laboratory on Friday 15th of November 2024. 

• David Calvet's term as our Institute Board Chair is finishing May 1st 2025. A Search Committee was constituted and seeks your input for the selection of the next I.B. Chair. • October 25th 2024, South Africa will host the TileCal week in fall 2025 at iThemba Labs.

• October 3rd, 2024: Pavol Starovoitov (University of Sharjah) and the United Arab Emirates ATLAS cluster are joining the Tile collaboration.

• From 1st of September  2024: ​​Stergios Kazakos started his term as a TileCal Run Coordinator, and Marina Kholodenko will serve as a Deputy Run Coordinator. A big thank you to the outgoing TileCal RC Xuanhong Lou!

• July 23rd, our paper "Operation and Performance of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter in LHC Run-2" was accepted for publication by EPJC. Congratulations to the editorial team.

• 16^th  to 19^th of July: Phase-II electronics expert week at CERN.

• June 16th, Bruce Mellado is appointed deputy project leader of our system

• From 1st of May  2024: Xuanhong Lou​​ started his term as a TileCal Run Coordinator, and Stergios Kazakos will serve as a Deputy Run Coordinator. A big thank you to the outgoing TileCal RC Arya Aikot!

• Brazil became an Associate member of CERN: https://home.cern/news/news/cern/brazil-becomes-associate-member-state-cern, the first in the Americas, congratulations to the Brazilian TileCal team for paving the road towards this major achievement!! 

• A huge thanks to our outgoing Project Leader, Oleg Solovyanov, for having led the TileCal system through the end of Run-2, LS-2 and the start of Run-3!!

• Starting February 22nd 2024, Yoav Afik joins Danjela Bogavac as co-cordinator of the trigger activites in the Tilecal system

•  From 9th of January 2024: Arya Aikot​​​ started her term as a TileCal Run Coordinator, and Xuanhong Lou​​​​ will serve as a Deputy Run Coordinator. A big thank you to the outgoing TileCal RC Gaogalalwe Mokgatitswane!

• Monday December 11th: Humphry Tlou, our former Run coordinator and DAQ expert obtained his PhD degree at Witwatersrand. Well done Humphry !! Success in your next endeavour.

• Thursday December 6th: the CERN Research Board approved DRD Calo in which we have our TileCal FCC R&D project.

• Friday November 17th: we had the pleasure to  welcome Her Excellency Dr Athaliah Lesiba Molokomme, ambassador of Botswana to Switzerland, in the TileCal laboratory in building 175. 

• October 9-13th: we were welcomed in Pisa for our TileCal week outside. Thanks a lot Sandra Leone and the Pisa team for the organisation. At this occasion we celebrated the 30 years of TileCal calorimetry! 

•  From 1st of September 2023: Gaogalalwe Mokgatitswane​​​ started his term as a TileCal Run Coordinator, and Arya Aikot​​​​ will serve as a Deputy Run Coordinator. A big thank you to the outgoing TileCal RC Judita Mamuzic!

• July 5th to 19th: A new test-beam campaign took place. In the H8 beam line an unexpected piece of equipment has been removed from the beam trajectory close to the production target earlier this year. It should give a big improvement on the quality of the electron beam. Link to the pictures from Nick 

• June 23rd 2023: Our paper "Laser calibration of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter during LHC Run 2" is published by JINST. Congratulations to the authors and editors ! link to the paper: M.N. Agaras et al 2023 JINST 18 P06023

• June 22nd 2023: Helena Santos will join Michaela Mlynarikova as coordinators of the Data Preparation & Performance activity, at this occasion lets thank Pawel Klimek who held this role for many year for all his efforts and contributions. Rute Pedro is joining Tomas Davidek as Upgrade project Performance co-coordinator, Antonio Delegido will replace Rute as Calibration co-coordinator. Thanks Rute for your many efforts in the Calibration activity!

• From the 1st of June 2023: David Calvet started his term as Tile Institute Board Chair. Many thanks for the outgoing IB chair, Bruce Mellado!

• From 1st of May  2023: Judita Mamuzic​​​ started her term as a TileCal Run Coordinator, and ​​​​Gaogalalwe Mokgatitswane will serve as a Deputy Run Coordinator. A big thank you to the outgoing TileCal RC Ryan Peter Mc Kenzie!

• The ATLAS detector resumed 24/7 operations, and so did the TileCal system. The team in the control room ensured the successful recording of the first beam splash event in the 2023 run.

• Jana Faltova was appointed Calibrations Co-coordinator, she will join Rute Pedro leading the calibration activity as of March 20th 2023.

• Giulio Usai has been elected as Tile Calorimeter Phase-II Upgrade Project Leader, starting from the 1st of January 2023. Many thanks for the outgoing TileCal UPL Pavel Starovoitov!

• From 1st of January  2023: Ryan Peter Mc Kenzie will start his term as a TileCal Run Coordinator, and ​​​​Judita Mamuzic​​​ will serve as a Deputy Run Coordinator. A big thank you to the outgoing TileCal RC Antonio Jesus Gomez Delegido!

• On November 1st 2022: Debottam Gupta is starting as Data Quality co-coordinator, joining Tibor Zenis. A big thanks to Will Kostecka for having served on this role till recently. 

• Tile team at the 13.6TeV event: front row, left to right Onesimo, Antonio, Luciano; back row Danijela, Antonio, Humphry and Tigran.

• Danijela Bogavac has been appointed Operations co-coordinator, replacing Henric Wilkens. She will lead the operations activity with Jalal Abdallah. A big thank to Danijela for taking up this chalenge, and to Henric for his service in the role during the last nine years.

• Jalal Abdallah & Fernando Carrio Argos received the ATLAS Outstanding Achievement Awards for outstanding contributions to the integration of the TileCal HL-LHC Demonstrator into the ATLAS overall TDAQ system. The award ceremony will take place during the CB and Collaboration matters session of the next ATLAS Week on June 23.
